이번 작업은 재료의 특성상 지금껏 내가 해오던 방법과는 다른 제작방법으로 형태를 만들었다.

그래서 만드는 과정의 새로움에 홀린 듯 흥분하며 즐겁게 작업했다.

오리고 꿰매고 붙이고 구부리고 주무르는 이런 과정들은 줄곧 금속판을 망치질하여 형태를 만들던 나에게는 무척 신선한 감각을 형태에 녹일 수 있는 방법이 되었다.

새로운 작업 재료의 발견을 통해 내가 알지 못했던 감각을 찾아서 표현하게 된 셈이다. 이번 전시는 그 새 작업 방법의 첫 결과물들이다.

작업 방법은 달라졌지만 만든 것은 여전히 사람들의 생활과 함께 하는 물건이다.

공간에 놓이고 담기고 만져지며 그곳의 풍경을 변화시키는 작은 울림을 갖는 그런 물건을 상상하며 작업했다.

So, I worked with excitement as if possessed by the novelty of the making process.

This process of cutting, stitching, bending, and rubbing has always been a way for me to melt a very fresh sensation into a form, which I have been hammering metal plates.

The discovery of a new working material has led to the discovery and expression of a sense that I didn't know.

This exhibition is the first result of the new method of working.

Working methods have changed, but what is made is still something that goes with people's lives.

今回の制作は素材の特性上、今まで私がやってきた方法とは違うやり方で形を作った。

その新しいやり方に魅了され興奮し、楽しく作業できた。

素材を切ったり、縫って結んだり、折り曲げたり、このような過程は普段、金属の板を金槌で打って形を作ってきた私にとって、とても新鮮な感覚を形に溶かす方法だった。

新しい素材のおかげで自分の中の知らなかった感覚が表現できたと思う。 
今回はその新しい制作方法での初めての展示でもある。

制作方法は変わったが、作ったものは今まで通り人々の生活とともにするモノである。 
空間に置き、ものを入れ、触れて、存在で周りの空気を変える、ささやかな響を持つそんなモノを作りたい気持ちで制作した。
